The 2010 recertification season is upon us. We are launching a new recertification process for 2010 which is 100% online. Beginning in early September the new ctreferee.org recertificaiton website will be up and running. The process is as follows:
Go to website and login using your referee number or name and birth date
Follow the instructions
Pay fee (a credit card is best)
Read the memorandum - take a test which requires a 100% score to pass to the next section (many opportunites to pass)
Take the online certification clinic - pass each section which requires 100% score to pass (many chances)
Take the recert test which is 50 questions - must score 75% or higher to pass (open book and unlimited time, but only 2 chances to pass)
If test is passed, it will confirm recertification
A 2010 badge will be sent from Chicago in a few weeks
If a grade 8 scores less than 75% on two tests, then they can wait until the AGM meeting in late January to attend a remedial clinic in Farmington. This is the only remedial clinic offered this year.
If a person was certified for 2008, but missed 2009 then they can retest for 2010. If they pass the recert, then they can not referee until January 1, 2010 even though they get the badge before year end.
Entry level clinics will be online for 2010. The website will be operational starting in December 2009 or January 2010. All the course material will be online with quizzes along the way. The referee candidate should plan on several hours over several days to complete the online material, so they must plan ahead. Once the course material is completed online, then the referee candidate must attend a clinic which will include a field session and the final test. These instructional sessions /clinics will be in March just prior to the season. We plan to hold them outside on an actual field. There will be more communication on the entry level courses in a few months.
